We enjoyed raising chickens and continue to keep a small farm flock for our own use. Chickens are great for orchard sanitation, eating the larvae of many pesky pests. They eat a goodly portion of our compost that our kitchen generates, leaving a nutrient rich forest garden floor. And they keep things entertaining...they welcome each pile of kitchen scraps or garden weeds as the best thing ever.

You can check out our blog archives for hens or broilers to see some of the antics of past hens and chicks.
