This book came out a while back, but I must have missed it.
Val and I discovered Peter Menzel when his book Material World came out. It had great photos of families from all around the world, with all of their worldly possessions arrayed around them. The stark contrast between the American and the Bhutan family will stay with me forever.
The new(-ish) effort by Menzel is Hungry Planet, a photo comparison of a week’s worth of food around the globe. Check out the NPR story to see some photos.
The folks from Chad don’t seem to be getting much at all, while the Guatemalan family looks like they have a tasty bounty of fresh stuff to work with. Makes me miss summer veggies.
